                                    241DEEP HOLE DRILLING%u00bd%u0009Guide PadsThe non-symmetrical design of deep hole drilling tools affects surface finish, hole accuracy, and tool life. The guide pads help reduce the negative effects that result from the non-symmetrical design of deep hole drills. The ISCAR guide pads are designed with double chamfer at the edges (picture 6.8.1) that helps smooth entry into the machining hole, prevents premature wear, reduces the risk of guide pad damage, and improves surface finish by minimizing the risk of scratching the hole surface. Picture 6.8.1All ISCAR tools for deep drilling are equipped with two guide pads (picture 6.8.2).
