New 3 Fluted Drills with Exchangeable Head
Highlights
LOGIQ3CHAM - Three flute exchangeable drills line designed to significantly increase productivity and reduce machining cycle time by up to 50% compared to conventional two flute drills.
ISCAR introduces a new LOGIQ3CHAM drill family which raises drilling performance levels to new heights. This family was designed by utilizing highly advanced technologies, based on ISCAR’s successful SUMOCHAM drill families.
The diameter range is .472 to 1.020” diameters, with drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3XD and 5XD.
The new D3N drills can increase productivity by up to 50%, maintaining the excellent performance of the SUMOCHAM drills.
LOGIQ3CHAM applies the user-friendly drilling system for easy handling in accordance with the company motto of “No Setup Time”.

H3P Drilling Heads
- Available in the drilling range of .472-1.020” diameters with .004 increments
- Single type geometry suitable for both ISO P and ISO K materials
- H3P drilling heads are made of IC908 TiAlN PVD nano layer coating grade, for prolonged and predictable tool life
- Unique wavy and honed cutting edges enable best chip form
and easy chip evacuation process
- Patented concave cutting edges enable smooth penetration, excellent centering and stable drilling process
- Patent pending robust and precise chisel point and gash angle to withstand high cutting forces
- 15° corner chamfer increases wear resistance and strengthens the cutting corner
- Dovetail clamping prevents the head from being extracted from the pocket during retraction

- Available in 1.5, 3 and 5 drilling depth to diameter ratios according to the list
- 3 variable and polished flute surfaces provide a smooth and easy chip evacuation process
- Variable flute angle design provides durable tool structure to withstand high axial forces
- Helical margin prevents chip adhesion between the body and the hole during machining
- Internal coolant channels supply efficient cooling and lubrication during the drilling process

Pocket features

General Recommendations:
- Dry drilling should not be performed under any circumstances
- Semi-synthetic or emulsion lubricants are recommended to be used for extended tool life
- It is essential to use internal coolant in all LOGIQ3CHAM applications
- In cases of low coolant pressure or when used in a stationary application, adding an external coolant can improve tool life
- When only external coolant can be applied, it is recommended to drill to a maximum depth of 2xD
- An optional plug with internal thread for coolant connection can be used on stationary machines. It can be pressed into the back-end hole of the drill

Following are the recommended ranges for coolant flow rate and pressure for each drill diameter

- For optimal performance, it is recommended to adjust runout of outer points and chisel with a maximum of .00079” exceeded runout will have influence on drill performance, tool life and hole quality.
- LOGIQ3CHAM drills can be used either on milling centers or lathe machines
- LOGIQ3CHAM drills can be used on sloped surfaces up to 12°. When drilling sloped surfaces of up to 12°, reduce feed rate by 30-50% during penetration up to 5 mm depth; or use a spot or pre-hole drill to avoid drill deviation or poor drill performance
- Interrupted cut has a direct influence on hole accuracy, quality and tool life
