Brazed tips with chip splitting are usually mounted on deep drilling heads up to 20 mm in diameter. The chip splitting cutting edge causes breaking chips into small segments, thus ensuring proper and easy chip evacuation. Brazed tips without chip splitting are usually mounted on deep drilling heads of 12.6 up to 20 mm in diameter.
